The staff of the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA ETC welcomes you to our website.

Our director, Bunny Harris, is from Butler, GA.  After thirty-two years with the Taylor County School System, she decided to leave her “comfort zone” and became director of the Educational Technology Center on July 1, 2008.  Mrs. Harris’s experiences in education were in the regular classroom, the gifted classroom grades 3 - 12, and as instructional technology specialist for Taylor County.  Her duties as technology specialist ranged  from providing daily teacher support in technology to working on the consolidated grants application for the school system.  These experiences have all shaped her vission and passion for promoting technology use in the schools in this area of Georgia.  She particularly enjoys and promotes the Georgia Movie Academy video competitions for student teams in the C-F RESA area.

Our registrar/secretary is Tonya Barnes.  Tonya lives in Ellaville and has an accounting and business background.  She aids in scheduling classes, providing PLU credits, and registering educators for ETC courses, and also teaches production classes on Microsoft Office for the ETC.  Tonya also is instrumental in organizing our gala event - the Georgia Movie Academy Awards held at the Rylander Theatre in Americus.

Instructional Technology Specialist for our center is Jennifer Smith Jennifer lives in Plains and has experience teaching technology to all levels of learners from kindergarteners to adults.  She has worked with Sumter County Schools, South Georgia Technical College, Webster County Schools, and Schley County Schools in various positions in the technology field.  Jennifer has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Education and completed her Ed.S. in Instructional Technology in 2008.  She has a passion for helping teachers integrate technology in their classrooms and enjoys working with the teachers in our area.   Jennifer is making an impact in our area, as she initiated our first online classes for PLU credits through our Moodle server, is a Thinkfinity certified trainer, is a SMART certified trainer, and a Mimio certified trainer.    Jennifer has a website on Porta Portal containing many of her favorite websites.  Jennifer also writes a blog with Instructional Tips and Tricks for educators.  Most recently, Jennifer has started pinning educational boards on Pinterest.

Technology Support Specialist for our center is Tom Sharp. Tom started as a "shop" teacher in 1977 in Sheffield, Alabama. He later became technology director for the school system for many years before retiring from Alabama. He first came to Georgia as a computer networking teacher for Rome City Schools and then served two years as an assistant principal at Oglethorpe County High School near Athens, GA. Tom has held Microsoft systems engineer, Cisco, and CompTIA certifications. Tom is a SMART certified trainer.  He was the owner of his own video production business for many years.  Tom has used his video expertise to help with television production studio setups and provide training on video production, software, and editing to grant teams and participants in the Georgia Movie Academy sponsored by C-F RESA ETC.  Tom has created videos from several classrooms in the area, highlighting good teaching practices using technology.

Working on special assignment with the eTextbook Title II-D ARRA grant are Rita Montgomery and Connie Ussery of Columbus.  Rita retired from the technology department in Muscogee County in May of 2010.  Connie also retired from Muscogee County where she was a media specialist. Rita and Connie joined the ETC staff to work part time, and provide training and support to the entire faculty of Carver High School in Muscogee County.   Carver High was one of five systems in the state who received the competitive $1.3 million eTextbook grant, which will give all students in the school netbooks containing the textbooks and other resources for their high school classes.

Also working with the ETC this year on a parttime basis are Mary Starke, Toni Webb, and Louise Bosse.  Mary and Toni retired from Muscogee County in spring of 2010, and now work as trainers at Rigdon Road in Muscogee County.  Scheduled trainings on SMART are underway for Muscogee County employees.  Louise is working at Fox Elementary in Muscogee County with the ARRA Increasing Student Literacy grant, and at several other schools providing technology trainings and support.

We all look forward to working with you!
